Cookie policy

Last updated: 2026-09-22

A cookie is a small file the site leaves in your browser so it can remember something between pages. This document sets out exactly which cookies we use, what for, how long they last and who reads them. It forms part of the Privacy policy.

How consent works here

On your first visit we show a banner with three equal options: accept, reject, or open the settings. Until you choose, no analytics script is loaded. Refusing is as easy as accepting and has exactly the same effect as not answering at all: nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies.

Your choice is kept for 12 months. We ask again sooner only if a new purpose or a new recipient appears — not every time the wording changes. You can change your choice at any time:

The cookies we use

Strictly necessary

They hold your session, protect forms against forgery, remember the language you chose and the choice you make here. The site does not work without them, so they cannot be refused.

fisherway_session

alexfishingway.com

Remembers your session during the visit: the cart, being signed in, the step you reached in a form.

XSRF-TOKEN

alexfishingway.com

Protects forms against forged submissions from another site.

fw_consent

alexfishingway.com

Remembers your cookie choice, so we do not ask again on every page.

12 months

locale

alexfishingway.com

Remembers the language you prefer to read the site in.

newsletter_popup_dismissed, consultation_popup_dismissed

alexfishingway.com

Remembers that you closed an information window, so it does not reappear immediately.

Analytics

Google Analytics, so we can see which pages are read and where visitors come from. If you refuse, the script is not loaded at all — not merely prevented from setting cookies.

_ga, _ga_*

Google Ireland Ltd.

Google Analytics: aggregate audience statistics. Set only if you accept the analytics category.

What we keep about your choice

The law requires us to be able to prove that you consented. To do that without building a register of visitors, we keep only a random identifier, the policy version and the date of the choice. We do not record your IP address for the cookie choice.

Other external services

A few parts of the site are hosted by third parties and, by the nature of the web, they see your IP address when their content loads. They set no tracking cookies on this site:

  • Bunny Fonts (bunny.net, European Union) — the text fonts. The service uses no cookies and builds no user profiles.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — the anti-bot check on the sign-in and registration forms. It is necessary for account security.
  • YouTube — embedded videos load only after you press play. Nothing is sent to YouTube before that.
